Being Planted In New Places

“When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower… — Alexander Den Heijer

I truly love this quote because it resonates deeply with all of us whom God is planting in new places where the soil is just right for growth. Healing and growth often happen not by trying to fix or change who we are, but by discovering and settling into a safe, nurturing place that allows us to truly bloom. Before we ever see the beautiful petals of a flower and admire its glorious color, there is a vital stage where tender care must be given to its soil so that its little root system can develop strong and sturdy foundations. Beneath the surface, the flower soaks in essential nourishment and nutrients, building up strength quietly and patiently. When the timing is just right and the flower is fully prepared, it will push through the darkness of the soil into the marvelous light, emerging as a mature, budding blossom ready to thrive.
